Brewerytown Garden is committed to providing fresh, local, seasonal affordable food for our community. We are operating an October CSA with hopes that subscribers and others will also consider buying a share for a neighbor experiencing food insecurity. The share will consist of 5-6 items sourced from local farms. Contents will vary week to week but include foods that are currently growing such as kale, lettuce, cabbage, winter squash, potatoes, onions, apples, and mushrooms.
This CSA will run for 5 weeks during October 2020. Members are responsible for picking up the share at 27th and Master St each Saturday (Oct 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st) from 8:30 to 10:30am.
Throughout the spring and summer, Brewerytown Garden participated in the USDA Farmers to Families Food Distribution Program. We were able to distribute food to 280 families each week through this program, and through other grants and donations we supplemented fresh produce boxes with eggs and bread. The USDA has chosen not to fund this program in Philadelphia any longer even though there is great need here. We want to continue to assist our neighbors experiencing food insecurity and are inviting you to buy a 5 week share to donate to our neighbors.
There are several add-on choices for shares, which you can choose below. Add-on honey, apple cider and Pumpkins! will be received on the day indicated. Eggs will be received every week.
The best way to communicate with us is via email. Our email is [email protected] . We will do our best to respond as soon as possible. We will communicate with you by email. When you sign up, you will be added to our CSA distribution list.
Deadline to sign up for the CSA is September 27, 2020.
